What is MANDALA YOGA VENTURE – ITALY 2020: Tuscany Oct 11-17 with Nicole & Lena?
Yoga Mandala designs and leads out-of-the-box ventures we want to attend. Our ventures are always combined with the natural element as we deem nature and attention to our physical, mental and spiritual well being to be essential ingredients in bringing us back to ourselves and into meaningful connection with our lives. Revitalize your senses and bring your yoga next Fall to beautiful Tuscany, Italia!
Join Nicole and Lena for an amazing week immersed in the Tuscan/Umbrian region of Italy. We’ll be staying in rustic-style apartments on the beautiful farm and winery estate of Montemelino, known for their wine cellar in Tuoro sul Trasimeno on the northern hills of Trasimeno Lake, between Umbria and Tuscany, at around 300 meters above sea level. The vineyard of about 8 hectares is included in the territory of the “DOC Colli del Trasimeno,” a territory particularly suited to wine production for the favorable microclimate of the lake. This is a great time of year to be in this area, and we can’t wait to share this festival of the senses with you through yoga in Tuscany!
We will revel together in our yoga practices, enjoy the amazing farm-to-table gastronomy, sip local wine, enjoy spectacular views of orchards and Trasimeno Lake in the gentle hills that frame the lake basin, kissed by a microclimate suitable both for the cultivation of olive trees and vines. The vines are all found in predominantly argyle soil and the grapes typical of this region are the Trasimeno Gamay (reds) and the Grechetto (whites). This territory is replete with history, inhabited since the Etruscan era and later occupied by the ancient Romans with the battle that saw Hannibal’s victory against the Etruscan army. The diversity of small villages and their fortifications from the Middle Ages, the ancient religious buildings in which the vines were cultivated and oil was produced, the luxuriant and uncontaminated nature, all represent the context and texture for your venture to Tuscany!
We will begin our day with ritual meditation and morning yoga practice to awaken the chakra system of subtle energy, followed by full, homemade breakfast fare before the day’s adventures unfold. We will alternate guided town tours to Cortona, Perugia and Castiglion del Lago lead by our wonderful local guide John, with free afternoons for you to explore the countryside at your leisure. Several late afternoons will find us tasting wine at the Montemelino winery and savoring the various tastes of olive oil and gelato. We will complete our days with a sweet journey into yoga’s restorative yin and nidra practices to retire our senses and resorb nature’s bounty from the day before we enjoy 3-course (earth/sea or vegetarian) dinners prepared by Italian Chef Sefano Ruiglianos at the restaurant on premises. No matter your level of fitness and yoga experience the whole of this offers you the perfect refuge in this bountiful vineyard haven where your senses will come to life.

*Local Tuscan City/Village Trips
These visits to local towns are the highlight of our Tuscan yoga-venture!The visits are scheduled for the group, but the cost is extra for the transport and lunch.
A romantic ancient town at 30 minutes by car from us with a stunning view over the valley and full of lovely artisan shops and cafes. We advice to visit also l’eremo “Le Celle” a Franciscan hermitage located at 5 kilometres from Cortona, a charming and peaceful place amidst an ancient wood.
|Castiglion del Lago
At 25 minutes from us another old town with a bird view over the Trasimeno lake. It is worth a visit to the ancient town hall Palazzo della Corgna full of ancient affresco.
Perugia is the capital city of Umbria, located in a high hilltop is one of the main Italian Etruscan cities. With the highway you will be there in 30 minutes. In the city there are many ancient churches and place to visit but we also truly recommend a unique textile museum located in the Women’s Church of Saint Francis called Brozzetti Museum.
|Trasimeno Lake Islands
Maggiore Island is the biggest island still inhabit, with some shops and a small old church to visit. The ferry boat departs from Tuoro beach. Polvese island is the middle island, not inhabit, with more wild nature and a nice beach. The ferry boat departs from San Feliciano.
